Pat Richardson is the new Director of Development for The Arc of Orange County in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In Pat’s new position she plans, develops and coordinates as well as administers the public relationships and fundraising activities of the agency. She operates as the liaison for public and corporate partnerships, grant writing, and special events.   

Pat has spent many years in the hospitality and tourism industry bringing 12 years of experience to The Arc of Orange County planning and facilitating both small and large events with her clients.  She is committed to ensuring successful events, networking and overall branding in her new position and making “The Arc” a household name. 

Previously, Pat has served as the Regional Sales Manager for Archstone Smith where she managed various properties in Northern Virginia and Washington DC; Group Sales Manager for the Millennium Hotel managing the Government and Association Markets as well as Religious Organizational accounts; and Account Executive for Headway Corporate Resources where she promoted a brand and product to North Carolina corporations and national accounts.

Pat is Vice Chair of the Professional Women’s Network; Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee Member, and Chairman of Resource Development Committee for Triangle Urban League.

Become a Care Provider for The Arc! - We are currently looking for  individuals to provide direct care to people with developmental disabilities. The Arc provides services to individuals of all ages with varying abilities and needs. Respite care typically occurs in the client's home or in the community and offers relief to full-time caregivers. Respite may also occur in group settings where several Care Providers work with several clients at one time. Respite may involve activities such as assisting with homework, going for a walk, playing games, or helping the individual learn how to live independently. Care Providers who participate in the Supported Employment program will accompany clients to their jobs to assist in specific goals related to their employment.
