The Arc of Orange County provides Respite care services to families who have children (all ages, including adult children) with or at risk for developmental disabilities in Orange County. The purpose Respite is to provide relief to the primary caregiver(s). Families need a break and have confidence that their son or daughter is in good hands while they are away.
Respite Services are provided by Support Professional staff who The Arc of Orange County finds, screens, and trains to work in the homes and in various social settings which in public events. Our Support Professionals come from a variety of backgrounds. They are full-time career minded professionals, college students studying various subjects at local universities and community colleges, college graduates, graduate students, teachers and teacher's assistants, and/or have full-time jobs elsewhere but work part-time afterward. They all are very caring and passionate about the support they provide.
