History

The Arc of Orange County works with and for people who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities to promote full participation in areas of life in our community.

The Arc seeks to accomplish this through advocacy, education, and collaboration, as well as through provision of quality supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and the community.

The Arc was incorporated as a 501(c)3 private, non-profit in 1979, after more than twenty years of activity in Orange County. The Arc has been instrumental in helping people with developmental disabilities find appropriate supports and services in our community. Where none existed, The Arc worked towards their establishment, finally offering some of the needed services through our organization.

Currently, The Arc of Orange County operates service programs in our community including: Respite Care, Adult Programs, Financial Resources for Families, Vocational Training and Placement, Toddler Movement Play Program, Summer Internship Program and Advocacy. The Arc strives to provide education in our community surrounding the needs of individuals who have developmental disabilities.
