As both a Respite service to Parents and a coordinated social opportunity to individuals, we schedule and coordinate attendance to community activities. For those who need supports we make arrangements for staffing. Most participants enjoy the "getting out" and "hanging out", while others use it as an opportunity to learn socialization. Some programs are designed to teach, instruct, and expect personal growth while others are mainly social and recreational. We typically offer these programs to groups based on age and the days/times vary based on program participants’ collective needs and wants.
Adult Night
Provides a regular scheduled social opportunity for adults (ages 18+) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the community while providing some respite for the parents or caregivers.
Teen Night
Provides a regular scheduled social opportunity for teens (ages 13-21) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the community while providing some respite for the parents.
Kid Saturday
Is a staffed play-day for children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (school-aged children age 6-12) allowing parents an opportunity for respite. Staff ratio does not exceed 1:2 (usually 1:1).
Winter/Spring Camp
This student-aged program is designed to coincide with scheduled school vacations. The camps provide a welcome alternative to working parents during holiday breaks and continuity of skill building and social/recreational opportunities to students. Campers spend each day in a supervised environment that is structured and fun! Some examples include vocational experiences, health and wellness focus, music therapy, and yoga!
Respitality
Who wouldn't enjoy a night away from home once a year? This is probably true for most parents, but especially true for parents and guardians whose children have special needs. The Respitality Program offers a precious opportunity to parents to enjoy an overnight stay at a local hotel.
